YOUNG PEOPLE
New Wortley Community Centre offers a range of groups and activities for young people to get involved in. We also run a variety of events throughout the year for the young people of LS12 to enjoy. Examples of events we run include the New Wortley Food Festival, Halloween & Easter Treasure Hunts, Halloween Festival, Community Bonfire Night Celebration and a Santa's Grotto.

Featuring sensory treasure baskets for babies, role play, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities. Weekly activities promoting child development and social skills. A place where parents can connect with others and receive advice from our Family Support Worker in a welcoming Community Space.

Parent Led - Ages 6 - 9 Beginning November 6th 2026
Sensory play helps children learn through touch, sight, sound and smell. A group to promote fine motor skills, coordination, and problem solving, while encouraging creativity and calmness. Enhancing sensory understanding and emotional development.

A free, friendly, fun space for children to laugh, learn and make new friends. Our session are packed with exciting activities. Children are supported to build confidence and explore new interests.

A inbetween space for your Pre - teens. Provides a safe space to meet new people of a similar age, relax and have fun.
