WORKING TOGETHER
We work together with the local community to organise and support a wide range of events and activities throughout the year. Examples of events include the New Wortley Food Festival, Halloween & Easter Treasure Hunts, Halloween Festival, Community Bonfire Night Celebration and the Residents Christmas Dinner.
A.B.C.D
New Wortley Community Association connects local people together. We take an ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach to helping our communities flourish by uncovering existing assets, developing the skills and passions of individuals and empowering people to make change to make the best of the local area. We aim to work with residents to develop the area economically, socially and environmentally, and everything we do is done through a bottom-up approach. Here at New Wortley Community Centre we are all about giving power to the people, and we believe that empowerment is the key to community development!
